# Role of DEMOS Consensus

The DEMOS Consensus does not execute transactions for an L2PS. Instead, it serves as a **verification and attestation layer**, confirming that an L2PS workflow has been completed correctly.

By separating execution from attestation, L2PS networks gain flexibility, speed, and cost efficiency while retaining cryptographic security and network-wide trust.
