# Shield Mode (Coming Soon)

**Shield Mode** is the highest-privacy execution mode within the **XChain** ecosystem, designed for users who require maximum confidentiality and execution isolation.

Shield Mode leverages **Zero-Knowledge (ZK)** techniques and **Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)** to minimize transaction metadata exposure while protecting against both current and future cryptographic threats.

Swaps are executed **natively within XChain subnetworks**, with routing and settlement handled at the protocol level. This reduces reliance on external chains and limits execution visibility for both same-chain and cross-chain swaps.

Shield Mode is intended for sensitive transactions and advanced privacy-preserving use cases and will be introduced as an optional execution mode within **XSwap**.
